This week takes us to the East of the country, where we had a chat with one of our long standing customers, Martha V. Having been in the industry for a good number of years, Martha knows a thing or two about running a shop, and creates a fantastic atmosphere that gains her both incredibly loyal customers and staff. Here is an insight into what life is like at Martha V…
Can you tell us a bit about your shop? How did it start and where did you come up with the name?
When I took over the shop that I had been manager of for 15 years, Martha V seemed like a great name as the customers would know it was still me.
How long have you been open for?
The shop has been open for 9 years, under the name of Martha V.
Now tell us something about you? What do you do outside life in the shop when you get a chance to wind down after the busy trade days?
I really enjoy cooking and travelling to Europe with my husband Ian.
What is the best thing about your town? Any tips for people visiting there?
We are lucky to have a shop in Newmarket, the ‘home of horse racing’. People love to visit Newmarket and its attractions such as the horse racing museum, the gallops and the National Stud. Also, it’s lovely that Newmarket still has quite a few independent shops on its high street.
Where is the last place you travelled to as a team?
We went to the Costa del Sol, Spain in January 2017 for our Christmas party! We had a fantastic 2 nights there and enjoyed ourselves so much we will be returning again in January 2018.
What is your favourite item from this seasons Emreco collection?
I like the Aria cardigan because it’s a little bit funky with its oversized look and slouchy pockets.
If you could dress anyone in Emreco, who would it be and why?
It’s good enough that we get to dress our lovely loyal customers in Emreco every week 😊
*We recently held an Emreco shop day with the team at Martha V. Liam, our sales director, spent the day there meeting and greeting her lovely customers and telling them all about our garments and our brand. Customers got to enjoy a glass of fizz and prizes on the day – overall it was a huge success!*
